| Introduction |
I was born in 1980 and raised in Hungary where I first started shooting at around age 12. During high school I attended the meetings of the Amateur Photo Club where I improved my photographic skills, composition, printing techniques, and learned popular viewpoints in the field and about the role of photography in society. I came to the States after finishing high school to study photography and got my Associate in Sciences Degree from El Camino College in the spring of 2001. |
| Photographic Background |
For the past years I have been involved in mainly black and white fine art photography and have also started to shoot seriously in color in the past two years. I had two exhibitions in Hungary, a single man show in 1996, and the other in 1999 which was a joint exhibition with other photographers and which was included in the program of the Hungarian National Photo Week 1999. I won 1st place in portraiture category and 2nd place in landscape category at a photography contest also in 1999. My work was also featured in a calendar for the year 2000. Arriving to the States already with a strong basic portfolio I further perfected mainly my darkroom skills and put my third exhibition together in January of 2001. I also worked as a photojournalist for El Camino’s paper “Union”. |
| Workstyle |
I do portraiture, mainly in b/w but I will also shoot color if needed. I work best if the mood is kept casual but serious. I like to shoot in natural light having the person be and look as natural as possible. I don’t like to alter anything with fancy lighting. My goal is to keep things as simple and natural as possible, this way capturing the person as they are. I like to reflect the personality of the model in a portrait without adding anything mocked up. I would also be more than happy to hear your ideas about how you would like to look and to make the photo session an interactive, creative time. I like to solve challenging situations and like to bring diversity to my photography. I’m also willing to travel within a reasonable distance. |
